more on Mac Rime and Bron

I I cannot recommend enough the book" Life and Writings of St Patrick"
by Dr Healy 1905.
It contains by far the greatest references to Bron and Mac Rime in any single book.Note that the relevant comments are spread widely through the book.

In particular ,while most of the comments are found in other books his comments about Augris Head and Arnabrone are unique.
In particular it is the ONLY place I have seen where (page 291)it is said that a local King Mari(hy Fiachra) in the Magherow peninsula across bay from Killeaspuigbrone.Gave land to St Patrick and Mac Rime" gave his son"(gave it to HIS son.The land for the church is likely Ballintemple near Ard Tarmon, the grant confirmed by Cairbre, head chief of the area and eponomous individual for the area now know as Carbury.

sligo comment

Be aware when doing research that the key townland of Ardnabrone has in the past sometimes been named Adnaglass or sinilar.
More on MAC RIME

Excellent excellent excellent book, old  :The Life andWritings of Saint Patrick,byMost Reverend Dr.Healy
contains many reference to Bishop Broin(Bron)  and his meetings with St Patrick
and some NEW INFORMATION on Mac Rime  as well as speculations on the "family of Bron and his father in that I have never seen before in any of the many hundreds books and articles I have read.I cant understand where Healy got this information since I have not run across it any where else.It of not the kind of  importance  or controversy that might catch the attention of scholars ,if for no other reason that

also check Sligo heritage wes site for added articles on Bron and his possible home land
